What Are You Reading Wednesday

I’m just going to jump right into this, because I’m so excited to read this book.

What I’m Reading

I didn’t pick this one up because of the hype. There’s actually not a lot of that going around anymore. I picked this, because Belle has always been favorite Princess. She’s the only one I could truly relate to. Not just her looks but her mind and spirit as well. The way she prefers books to people, the way she feels the need to stand up for whats right when someone is being mistreated.

Beauty and The Beast Lost In A Book
by Jennifer Donnelly

What I’m Watching:

The Little Prince

maxresdefault (1).jpg

Would you believe that I have never read this book? Heard of it yes. Over and over and over again. Not once have ever bothered to pick it up. When it showed up on my Netflix I added it to my list. I figured why not? I’ll eventually get around to watching it. So one day not too long age, that’s exactly what I did. Touching………..is how I might describe it? Thoughtful? Only because that’s the closest I can get right now to describing how much I loved this little story. I still think about this movie. It’s been weeks! Currently I’m ordering the hardcover for myself and another for my co-workers baby on the way 🙂 You know how some people advise that every one should read “so and so” book at least once in their life? Well, this is the so and so book/movie I advise everyone to read.

What I’m Listening To:

I have yet to see this musical. Pandora keeps throwing in random songs from this movie and I’ve loved every one so far. What can I say? My Pandora knows me 😉
So I’m currently on YouTube listening to the soundtrack. Can I just say how utterly fantastic Emma Stone’s voice is!?!? ❤ I was already in love with her but now I’m just plum head over heels! Who needs Ryan Gosling when you can have Emma Stone! (Never really liked him anyway. Please don’t shoot me!)

What book have you picked up this week? Did you know The Little Prince was on Netflix? If you’ve seen La La Land how much did you like it?

What Are You Reading Wednesday

Is it really Wednesday? I’ve been off all week by one day. I even forgot trash day! Seriously I’m kind of losing my head this week. Any minute now the Red Queen will bark out orders to finish me off.
Well let’s jump right into thing shall we?

What I’m Reading:

34215534.jpgThis week I’ve picked up another ARC I received by indie author L.A. Shine. He kindly sent me a copy of his debut novel, Shadow.

“Ethan West had it all, great parents, a younger sister who he adored, an amazing girlfriend, best friend, and a college football scholarship.

That was until his entire world turned upside down when his family was brutally murdered.

Fast forward five years and Ethan is the best demon hunter alive, he will stop at nothing to find the demon that killed his parents even if it kills him.”

A book about a badass demon hunter? Uhm, yeees! When I first read this blurb I thought “whoa. That got dark quick.” Already I’m really liking the story. Even though it’s short, there’s a mystery that grips your attention and holds it, keeping you on the edge of your seat. I can’t wait to reach the end and at the same time, I wish there was more to it!

Everyone turned their attention from me to Joshua, everyone except that one guy, so I took my chance grabbing a piece of chalk and began writing on the board as my old best friend spoke, “Mr. Caboloki won’t be teaching us this year,” he began the silence quickly escalated into nervous chatter while he tried to finish but before he could the guy next to him, the one watching me tapped Joshua on the shoulder even pulling on his shirt a bit desperately trying to get his attention. “what is it Erin?” Joshua asked seemingly annoyed at his friend for interrupting him. But all Erin did was point to the board with “Mr. Ethan West” written on it.

I heard a few snickers before the man jumped over the desk, yup i made him angry, “Damian Kologe,” he screamed as he got closer and closer to my face, “my family’s demon hunting blood dates back as far as the Marie’s and if your so sure your Ethan West, prove it, princess!”

Well great, I’m not even a student and the first day of school I start a fight. Just my luck.

They all seemed too scared to answer so I continued making a little show of putting my arms up in a what motion, “Oh come on, this is fighting class, what is it without a little practice? Don’t just stand there like pansies.”

What I’m Watching:

HPI don’t think I really need to explain why I’m watching this. Sometimes you just need a little Harry Potter in your day ❤ am I right?

 What I’m Listening To:

Since I’ve been quite the busy bee lately, juggling from one wedding to the other, I’ve decided I need music that has a good beat to it. Which means I of course called on my old friend………

And that’s what I’m to this crazy, busy, not slowing down anytime soon week!

What are you up to this week? Got any big plans? Reading something fantastic? Let me know 😉

What Are You Reading Wednesday

allergies.jpgCurrently I’m battling some pretty pesky allergies. I’m losing, slightly. Don’t worry! As we speak reinforcements are on the way! In the form of Sudafed. Let’s see if that works for me. So far I’ve tried Allegra, Allegra D, Claritin, Benadryl (which only makes me sleepy), and Zyrtec 😦 Apparently my body is immune to getting help, but not immune to allergies -_- yay.

Moving on to why we’re here. I feel as though I’m coming out of my reading slump. Having just finished Everything Everything and currently working on the review. I’m ready to dive into the next book, eager in fact. And may I just say that personally I’ve been waiting to read it.

What I’m Reading:

This weeks read comes from a special blogger friend Daley Downing over at The Invisible Moth. This audacious mother of two has graciously decided to share with me her debut novel! A book that is been in the works for quite some time. She’s also decided to share some cute little treasures. Let me just say, that writing a book in itself is no easy feat. But being your own publisher and editor too? Now that’s not only impressive, its astonishing! She has come so far and worked so hard. I’m thrilled to be one of her reviews ❤

Masters and Beginners Volume 1 of The Order of the Twelve Tribes

“When Sophie Driscoll’s grandmother dies, her parents take over running the Annex, a warehouse facility that stores magical artifacts and documents proving the existence of faeries. As she and her brothers, Flynn and Cal, adjust to a new house, new friends, and a new way of living, Sophie discovers that one of her friends is protecting a dark and dangerous secret. Now caught between two equally imposing groups who are after the girl’s very blood, Sophie and her family must decide where their loyalty lies — and how to survive the choice they make.”

You can read an excerpt of her book on my spotlight post here. Keep an eye out for a review coming very soon 😉

What I’m Listening To:

If you haven’t seen the movie yet it is an absolute MUST see. Since the Blu-Ray release is too far away for me to be without something I decided to pick this up form work. I listen to it in the car all the time. Love it. Love Emma’s voice.

What I’m Watching:

Alice Through The Looking Glass

Did you guys know this was on Netflix??? I’ve seen this movie twice already all the way through. Hand in hand with the first one I’m not sure which one I enjoyed more.

Which Alice movie did you like more? How stuck are you on Beauty and The Beast? And what book are you currently reading?

What Are You Reading Wednesday

Don’t you love Wednesdays? It’s the second most perfect day of the week in my opinion. For one it’s usually my one day off, it falls right in the middle of the week which means it’s a great time to take a break or catch up on all I’ve been meaning to do. Also, Wednesday’s tend to be pretty sunny here in my neck of the woods.

What I’m Reading:

Last week I picked up a biography and shared a book haul with you guys. Now don’t kill me but I haven’t finished the Disney biography yet (working on it I swear). However! With so many beautiful new contemporaries waiting for me I couldn’t let them down. This week I picked up,

Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon

If you don’t know what this is about let me a do a tiny recap of the blurb. Madeline has a disease. This particular disease makes it impossible for her to go anywhere but the confines of her humble abode. Now she has some new neighbors. It doesn’t take long before her and Olly, an interesting young man who wears all black, become friends. Maddy and Olly begin to fall for one another.
What’s going to happen? Can they even have any kind of relationship? She’s practically allergic to the whole world after all.
That doesn’t seem to be stopping her and it certainly doesn’t seem to put much of a damper on her spirits.
I am loving everything about this book so far. It’s chapters don’t even feel like chapters. They only consist of about 2-3 pages. The illustrations alone keep your eyes glued to the book the whole time. I can already see why it’s gotten so many great reviews. I can’t wait to see the movie you guys.
If you’ve read this book let me know what you thought of it in the comments.

Did you love it, did it make you cry or swoon? How excited are you for the movie next month?

What I’m Watching:

13 Reasons Why
Based on the book by Jas Asher

EVERYONE is talking about this show. If you haven’t heard of this show or this book then where have you been???
As someone who read this book in high school I already knew what was coming when they announced the T.V series. Or so I thought. Honesty time; I never finished the book. It was horribly depressing!!! WHY would anyone want to read that? Also it was very droll and dry.
Well if the book had been anything like the show I might have finished it. Heck I might have even kept it and re-read it. If you’re like me and hated the book, DNF’d it or just didn’t bother with it then don’t worry.
This show is nothing like it. Already I’ve cried a total of 3 times. I’ve gotten several coworkers hooked on it and even gotten my sister hooked. She’s actually finished with it, leaving me way in the dust.
Warning: This show may cause triggers for anyone who has dealt with depression, sexual assault or thoughts of suicide.
Even if you haven’t experienced any of this first hand but have had friends/family who were affected by these circumstances, it may still be hard to watch. There is an episode that’s a little more graphic than I’d like it to be. So if you do decide to watch this, please be careful guys and be mindful.

What I’m Listening To:

How fun was this movie?! The songs are stuck in my head but I’m not really in a hurry to get them out.

For all my gamers out there, my friend Hunter Dragoon is actually creating his own game! He’s doing a pretty awesome job too. You can check out his progress as he shares it with us over on his YouTube Channel Here. I’m also going to share his latest video with you…

So what do you think? Looks pretty fun right? 😉 I’m actually very proud at how far he’s gotten on it. I love talking to him about the new things he’s adding. Personally I can’t wait until he’s finished so I can play this game! It has a very classic feel to it and I love that.

What Are You Reading Wednesday

For the past couple of weeks I’ve actually been really struggling to read Caraval. Don’t get me wrong. I do like the story so far. To be completely honest though it is not holding my attention. To it’s credit I don’t believe it’s the books fault. For a long time now my mind has been craving a good contemporary.
So suffice it to say that Caraval has officially been shelved, for now. This week I’ve picked up a few books from the Library (yes, I’m actually utilizing that card I got years back) and I’m also expecting a big box from USPS 😉 Until then, here’s what I just cracked open today and what I’m up to this week………..

What I’m Reading:

Walt Disney
The Triumph of the American Imagination by Neal Gabler

In anticipation of our upcoming trip to Disney World ❤ I’ve decided to do quite a bit of fun research. Not only have I been a humongous nerd when it comes to everything Disney since infancy, I’ve also been a humongous fan of the man behind the mouse himself. Walt Disney’s legacy is so incredibly inspiring. I can’t tell you how many web pages I’ve read on Walt. Finally I’ve gotten my hands on a really good sized biography. I kept running into 100 paged books thinking they just aren’t in depth enough. I’m looking for a book that can tell me something about Walt that I don’t already know. I want to really know the man who made The Happiest Place On Earth possible.
Well……..I’ve got a whopper compared to those other books. This one sits at a hearty 633 pages. Not including the extra 208 pages of appendix and index at the back.

What I’m Watching:

Rogue One

I’m halfway through this. I stopped because it was 12 am and my eyes were not having it. This movie so far………mmmm, I’m still waiting for it to get interesting.

Who doesn’t love a good dog movie am I right? Watched this and LOVED it! Loved a little more thanks to Rosko ❤ my new German Shepherd.

What I’m Listening To:

Every year between October and December I tell myself I’m going to re-watch this movie. Because it’s beautiful, it’s powerful and helloooo it’s a musical.
Every year, I some how never find the time to actually sit down and watch it. It’s been ohhh…………seven years? Give or a take. I LOVED this movie in high school. It was our movie. It epitomized the friendships I had and the way we celebrated life in everything we did. That time is long gone now. Adulthood has comfortably settled in it’s place and life is some how, slower. Exiting but in a way that seems more calm and collected. More mature. Who knows, maybe subconsciously I haven’t felt like strolling down memory lane and I look for excuses not to watch it.
No matter what time of the year it is though, you can always find me listening and singing along to every word of this musical

What are you up to this week? 😉

EevZbVX Me. Waiting for Bookoutlet…….

What Are You Reading Wednesday

Hey book nerds ❤
My house has ants! 😦 last year we had a pretty bad infestation of them and this year it seems as though they want to come back. I woke up this morning to a huge and gross trail of them coming from the closet. Nope! Ran downstairs just as fast as my its bitsy legs could carry me, grabbed the pest control spray like pro and wham! Got those suckers out of there. Had to clean it up of course but now I’m ant free 🙂 set up an appointment with Clark already and everything.
I don’t know about any of you but next to Spiders I am just as deathly afraid of ants. It all goes back to a very traumatic experience I had when I was just a girl.

Moving on, here’s what I have going on this week……

What I’m Reading:

Last week I was having trouble making up my mind on what book to read. Well I made a decision. It was this….

So far I’m only on chapter 13. Still waiting before I form an opinion. It’s not quite living up to my expectations. Now I’m telling myself that I need to throw those out the window! If you’ve already read this or are currently reading it, what are your thoughts?

What I’m Watching:

Collateral Beauty

I started watching this about 2 nights ago. I had to stop because my boyfriend kept coming in and would start a conversation so I had to pause it. He didn’t want to watch it with me which I was completely fine with. But the distractions! Eventually I just gave up and decided to watch it while he was at work. After re-watching that trailer I’m eager as a beaver right now and will probably go downstairs to finish it right after this post!

What I’m Listening To:

Body Like A Back Road by Sam Hunt

Catchy. It’s sexy, has a really nice beat. Perfect for driving with the windows down on some back roads just enjoying the way the sun hits that country scenery ❤ Sam Hunt’s voice is like velvet. I love it!

That’s what I’m up to this week guys! Let me know what you’re currently reading and how much your loving or hating it 🙂

What Are You Reading Wednesday

Finally I finished the ONE book I was reading for the month of February. Jeezus was February an extremely busy month for me. Between Birthdays, baby baptisms, engagement parties…….not to mention work and oh ya, life! I found little to no time at all to read. Boy am I glad the month is over. I feel exhausted! I sincerely hope everyone had a great February and got to really enjoy it. Hopefully it didn’t just fly by.

What I’m Reading:

On Monday I managed to finish A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray. Without giving too much away for the upcoming review……I LOVED IT!!!! It was so fantastic. I can’t wait to sit down and start the review 🙂
Since I don’t currently have the second book to the Firebird Series 😦 I’m gonna have to pick up something I do have on my shelves. These are the two I’m debating between…….

Both of these have received some pretty good reviews. RoseBlood being the one with the most mixed. Here’s my dilemma, I really really really want to read Caraval but it’s part of a series. This book just came out guys. I’m talking almost newborn status. Which means I’ll have to wait forever for the next book to come out. So many people have compared this work to The Night Circus. A book which you guys know left me with the BIGGEST book hang over I have ever felt in my entire reading career. So, will this book live up to it’s comparison? Will it leave me with another book hangover? Am I ready for that??? I obviously need your help here guys. I trust you. So if you say to give it a shot, then a shot I shall give it!

What I’m Watching:

For those of you who don’t know what this show is, what are you living under a rock? Ok ok granted this show is kind of old.
The show is about a Naval Central Investigative Service that (you guessed it!) investigates crimes involving the U.S. Navy and Marine Corp. I have loved this show since 2003 when it first aired. This show does everything right. It has crime, murder, love, suspense and even comedy relief. When my boyfriend is being ridiculous beyond belief I actually give hin the the “DiNozzo” hit on the back of the head. That’s how much it has impacted my life. Yet it’s so hard to choose a favorite character. I honestly love each and every one of the main characters. That almost never happens.

What I’m Listening To:

My Pandora account has a plethora of stations. Ranging from Country, to Rock, to Spanish, to Disney and Christmas! Recently I’ve been giving an excessive amount of attention to my Hobbit station. My current favorite song on this station is

I See Fire – Peter Hollens (Ed Sheeran cover)

These books and movies are life. (The Hobbit/LOTR) And if I had a theme song for my life I would have Peter Hollens sing it in a heart beat ❤ Also I’ve been super obsessed with his YouTube channel for years. He does the most brilliant job of singing my favorite songs that I have ever heard. Especially his Disney Medley’s. Did I mention that all of his songs are acapella!!! Oh plus he’s gorgeous

So that’s what I’m up to this week. Let me know what you’re currently reading. What TV shows or movies you’re currently obsessed with or what music you just can’t get out of your head 😉
