Goodbye September!

Happy October! ❤ one of the best months of the year! It means scary movies with lots of popcorn (all month long!), spooky reads, the ofrenda gets put up and costumes come out of hibernation! Someday we’ll tell our kids how we used to go out for Halloween and have parties, with real people!

I thought I would catch you guys up on a couple of things before we head into the wrap up. So if you honestly just want to see what books I read scroll ahead (hah!).

Quick Life Update:

Want to know a secret? It’s my birthday month! I may or may not be generous and buy myself some books, I don’t know. The calendar says my birthday month, but what it really means is planning for my sons birthday month. His birthday is at the very beginning of next month. Come to think of it there will be a lot of decoration buying so maybe those books wont happen after all. I’ve already sent out invitations! Will anyone come to this big party celebration? No! Thank you COVID. Also it’s on Halloween. It was the only day that would work for my husband. (Scheduling, what are you gonna do?) It’s the thought that counts though right? Some of our family will be here (my mom, in-laws, my sister) so we’re still going to decorate and have some BBQ.
What do you get a two year old for his birthday anyway? He has TONS of toys -_- courtesy of our family who spoils him rotten. He has TONS and TONS of books, courtesy of yours truly! We were thinking a trike or big wheel? Always open for opinions and ideas!

It’s also my anniversary month! In a mere four days my husband and I will have officially been married for…………ONE YEAR! Woo Woo! We made it guys! We’re on Easy St. now right? Just kidding ❤ I really am looking forward to celebrating our first year. We’ve put so much into adjusting to our life (him working hard and literally putting his life on the line (especially now), me working on our family and home) that we didn’t get a lot of time together. Plus COVID gave us no option to get out for date night so yeah that’s cool. I know this is how it’s going to be and that’s one of the things that can make marriage hard. Our mom (my MIL) gave us the advise of Keep Dating ❤ and our aunt’s advise was Its ok to put mom and dad First once in a while. Both very smart and beautiful women who’s advise I take to heart. Though pathetically I will miss my kid! It’s literally one day guys, one…..uno.

Ok! That’s all that’s going on in this bloggers life. Now lets get to books!!!

This month was slightly better than last month. I read a total of eight books! (Oh yeah, makin progress on that reading goal.) Here are the books:

  • Watch Over Me by Nina LaCour
  • Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia and
  • Wayward Witch by Zoraida Cordova
  • Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit
  • Coraline by Neil Gaiman
  • Beautiful Chaos by Kami Garcia
  • Eleanor, Alice and the Roosevelt Ghosts by Dianne Salerni
  • Grump Cat Awfu-ly Big Comics Collection

Reviewed:

Not Reviewed:

  • Grumpy Cat (review coming soon!)
  • Beautiful Darkness
  • Beautiful Chaos
  • Coraline (DNF Review to come)
  • Tuck Everlasting (Review to come)

For the Caster Chronicles, I’ve decided to review the series as a whole once it’s done. I could (and probably should) do each book individually) but I have been reading them back to back that they are beginning to blur together a little bit. I would rather do a review on the entire story and it’s progression.
