“I’m really good at giving kisses. Every night I make sure all the animals get a good-night kiss. Then they can sleep tight.”

Before going to bed, Chick wants to give all the animals a good-night kiss. Meet the crocodile who’s floating in the water, the rooster who’s crowing loud, the horse running in the meadow, and the cutest art ever. From the big lion to the little hedgehog, they all get a sweet kiss from little Chick. Until he gets tired himself….

What a very sweet bed time story. I read this with my newborn. Even though he can’t understand the words yet, I shared each kiss with him and we greatly enjoyed looking at the pictures.
The main character, a baby chick, kisses each of his friends good night. Giving them a sense of love and some well wishes of good dreams. What an attitude to promote! This is definitely a book that my son, if he were a bit older, would get a lot out of.
I did feel that it was a bit long. Kids reading this on their own or with siblings would easily get bored after several animals and a repetitive plot. There was definitely more potential here that could have been tapped into. However the simplicity of this little book goes a long way. The illustration was a great way to introduce animals from all over the world to young minds.

I can’t say I would recommend this book. While the idea of it was very cute it just wasn’t great. If I’m having trouble staying interested, there’s no way it will hold my sons interest.

I’m gonna have to give this one a 2.5 stars.

*I received a copy of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for this honest review.*
