I Could Really Use a Map

Summer vacation woo! Nothing to do but enjoy the sun, beaches, or heck spend tons of hours dedicated to nothing but burying my nose in those great fictional stories on my shelf. Ahhhh summer ❤ in my mind this season was created specifically to give us time to put a real dent in our reading lists. Or maybe that’s just something me and fellow bookworms believe it to be.

Somewhere along the line I got the bright idea (no pun intended) to start re-blogging as my last blog only consisted of about four posts and heeeey look at that! I’m already on my third post, see this one is working out better.

I’m finding it a little hard to keep up with blogging about my personal life and trying to keep up with the writing challenges to help me improve my skills. As it is I’m already way behind on the Writing 101 challenges, totally flaked on Blogging 101 because I couldn’t keep up, and never mind that I didn’t know about it until three days after it had started. Writing 101 that is. I think one of the reasons I’m set so far back is that I over think when I write. Everything has to feel at least close to perfect before I let someone else read it. A habit that Writing 101 is trying to break me of. I haven’t even started on the second assignment because I’ve been spending so much time thinking about what to write and how I want the post to look when I post it. Kindly enough I think they anticipate this type of over thinking and have informed us that we don’t have to publish it if we don’t really want to.

I guess in the end even if I’m behind it only matters that I’m making an effort. Also the fact that I keep writing and posting is already a lot of progress in itself. Still I can’t help but have that feeling in the pit of my stomach that I used to get when I was in school. You know…….that feeling when you know you’ve been procrastinating too long on your homework assignment. All the while the due date creeps ever closer until finally it’s the night before and the assignment is staring you in the face looking at you like “Helloooooo? I’M DUE IN 12 HOURS!”

P.S. I’m also still trying to find my way around WordPress. I’m having a lot of trouble figuring out how to put my posts in the write category. This probably wont find it’s way in the right spot. Sort of like putting a document into the wrong folder. Oops. I wonder if anyone else is having this problem. Hmm…….
